Chief Schultz was hired by Central Campbell Co. Fire District on March 19, 2015. He started his firefighter career volunteering in 1982 with his Dad, Al Schultz, and brother, Ken Schultz at the Melbourne Fire Department. While a Captain at Newport he was in charge of fire prevention and public education, as well as being chairman of the hiring committee. Chief Schultz retired from the Newport Fire Department in August, 2010 after 23 years of service. After a short retirement he began working for The Southern Campbell Fire District as their daytime supervisor. He worked at Southern Campbell for 4 1/2 years. Chief Schultz is excited to be working with outstanding personnel and to move The Central Campbell County Fire District into the future.

Chief Schultz resides in Melbourne, Kentucky with his wife, Juanita and five children, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Emily, Allison and Paige. He is a lifelong member of St. Philip Parish, where he has coached basketball for almost 30 years. He also serves as the athletic director for their booster's organization.
